Gardendale, AL Metal Roof Project

Quality materials. Expert installation. A roof built to last.

Brick ranch home in Gardendale, AL under a new charcoal ribbed metal roof, carport at left

Project Overview

New metal roof on a single-story ranch home in Gardendale, finished July 2026. We stripped the old shingles to the deck and sealed it up before any metal went on.

Before any metal went on, our guys stripped the old shingles down to the plank deck. New plywood patches went into the deck where it needed them, so the panels have solid wood to fasten into.

Next came GAF StormGuard Leak Barrier strips on the boards, then synthetic underlayment over the deck, then wood strips fastened over the underlayment. The metal panels went on last, and the same metal carries over the carport.

These are exposed-fastener ribbed panels, which means the screws are set in rows through the panel itself. The hips are closed with formed metal caps screwed down along both edges. Each roof pipe comes up through a flexible boot on a metal flange, since pipes are one of the first places a roof leaks.

If your roof is due for a look, schedule a free roof inspection. One of our roofers goes up on the roof and checks it in person.
